Plain is a small community located on what locals know as the Chumstick Highway, or the back way from Leavenworth to Lake Wenatchee. This route is a popular scenic drive and also serves as a detour when something goes wrong on US Highway 2 in the Tumwater Canyon. Here is a photo of the Winton Schoolhouse located on the west end of town.
